Februar 2012Secure archiving of POS data - GDPdU interface of AWEK certified by Audicon
AWEK, provider of complete POS system solutions, has been certified by Audicon GmbH, the leading supplier of audit software for auditors and tax inspectors, for its GDPdU interface.
The "principles of data access and auditing of digital documents" (GDPdU) rule the archiving of digital data for auditing purposes, especially the POS data which need to be securely archived and held at the disposal of tax authorities for a period of 10 years. The certificate recently granted by Audicon, the distributor of audit software for tax authorities, confirms that the data being exported by the AWEK interface complies with the requirements of tax authorities in regards to machine-readability.
According to the provisions of the tax authorities dated November 26, 2010, any single voucher needs to be stored for a period of ten years. It needs also be accessible at any given time as well as immediately readable in a machine-readable format upon request. Digital documents and structural information have to be available in an analysable data format. Dr. Axel Becker, director of GDPdU consulting at Audicon explains the background of these provisions: "Sometimes tax assessors receive data in a format which they cannot read in the IDEA format and will reject them therefore." In this respect, the conformity audit by Audicon means safety for users as the customers of Audicon include about 14,000 tax assessors using IDEA as the official auditing software for digital tax inspections every day.
The GDPdU interface of AWEK was certified by Audicon for its IDEA software at the end of 2011. "The certificate ensures that the data from the interface are available in the so-called description standard", says Dr. Axel Becker, and adds "The data provided by the AWEK interface guarantees reading and processing in IDEA without any problems."
Owing to the description standard AWEK also complies with the tax authorities' requirement for supplying data in a machine-readable format. Machine readability is guaranteed and realized by means of supplying a structure description xml-file to the raw data in ASCII code via the interface.
