Centralized System-Management euroMANAGEMENT
Controls Systems in Retail

AWEK Retail, provider of comprehensive software solutions and IT services in the field of POS systems, launches a framework that can manage a growing heterogeneous IT system landscape efficiently in the retail sector. The central system-management euroMANAGEMENT increases the availability by monitoring and managing the IT from the central server at headquarters. The automatic central software distribution accelerates the process.

System-management of IT environments is a very complex task. It is thus important to keep track of a variety of systems in usually heterogeneously grown system landscapes while maintaining the system. In retail, for example, systems ranging form check-outs to printers, card readers and other peripherals, reverse vending machines, information terminals, or PC´s in the back office, are to be monitored and kept up to date.

The software euroMANAGEMENT manages the entire system range in retail centrally and uniformly. To do so, hardware and software are initially detected and configured. The central monitoring and alerting mechanism gives early warnings of both hardware and software, if critical business processes are at risk of failing. These timely warnings are vital, especially in retail, because the failure of critical systems, such as check-outs, can very quickly lead to lost revenue.

Automatic Software Updates

New software versions and all configuration data are distributed with euroMANAGEMENT automatically and centrally. The distribution and the rollout of updates, patches, or releases are scheduled, initiated, and carried out by simply pressing a button at headquarters. This saves time and cost, routine tasks can be reduced.

Based on the latest technology euroMANAGEMENT is independent of platforms by providing users access via the internet. Thus, the centralized administration is comfortably carried out via a web browser.

"With euroMANAGEMENT distributing software becomes extremely accelerated. We enable retailers to focus more on their core business by proving them with an effective system administration tool," explains Andreas Berger, CEO of AWEK AG.

The use of a centralized system-management increases long-term efficiency in retail, because both the administration effort is reduced and systems can be protected better against failures. Central software distribution and installation also result in savings in operating cost.
