The head-office solution euroCONTROL of AWEK, provider of comprehensive IT solutions for retailers, has qualified itself for the IT Innovation Award 2010, an initiative for small and medium sized businesses in the top 20 product rage in the category of Business Process Management (BPM). The initiative for small and medium sized enterprises honors annually the best IT innovations of the year for the middle class.
The panel of 80 specialists consisting of university professors, scientists, industry as well as IT-experts, and journalists evaluated 2,000 products in 35 categories according to the criteria of innovation, practical relevance and suitability for SME´s. In the category of Business Process Management AWEK´s centralized control and reporting system solution was named one of the top 20 products.
"We are very pleased with the placement within the top 20 range of the Innovation IT Award," says Andreas Berger, CEO of AWEK PLC. "The award confirms that we support our retailers with advanced solutions essential to optimizing business processes long term."
The goal of the annual prize of the initiative for SME´s is to promote innovative products suitable for SME´s and at the same time providing companies with a competitive edge. "The award goes to shows that our medium sized company and our products are well positioned on the market. We are definitely trendsetting and forward-looking," says Andreas Berger.
euroCONTROL is a central control and reporting system for the retail business. The Java Enterprise solution is web-based always guaranteeing smooth communication between stores and headquarters. The software solution has also been honored with the bronze medal for the TOP PRODUCT RETAIL 2010 award in January of 2010 by the magazine `handelsjournal´ (trade journal) in the same category.
