Archiving Data
At the end of the day the back-office PC generates and stores all sales-related data in separate, daily files automatically. Thus, all transactions are backed-up individually, i.e. by merchandize groups, branches, cashiers, products, or VAT. The files are compressed and grouped together in an archive file and transferred via the POS network along with a description of the data structure for permanent storage on smartSTORAGE.

The internal logic of smartSTORAGE guarantees that transmitted data is backed-up for at least 10 years. In addition, the data is internally reflected on a second memory. To ensure successful storage of daily tax-related data the storage is monitored and controlled.

Media Release
When being audited, data access for any arbitrary period of time and the transfer of data to the fiscal authorities can be retrieved from the back-office PC and stored on a portable storage media. The data storage media enables the tax inspector to import the tax-related data into the German IDEA software and evaluate it. Data that has been retrieved will remain stored on smartSTORAGE.

Monitoring - Traffic Light System
Via the control and monitoring software in the back-office PC the user will have a quick overview of the status of smartSTORAGE. Thus, being able to look up the last time a back-up occured well as whether the storage device is working properly.

Alerting System with Traffic Lights
When using the software euroSTORAGE a quick overview of the status of the archived tax-related data of all connected branches is possible. The integrated traffic light system constantly checks if the data has been transferred completely. In case of any problem occurring during data transfer a warning message will be issued to the system administrator. This ensures perfectly safe archiving of your data.

Maximum Security
When combining smartSTORAGE with euroSTORAGE requirements for utmost security and highest integrity are met since inconsistencies will become apparent quickly due to the internal logic in smart STORAGE. The functionality of smartSTORAGE is constantly monitored by a controlling-STORAGE-server process. Furthermore, the back-up of the data on two physically separated mediums protects against data loss in the highest degree. Additional, elective management-alert-services will ensure fast response by the AWEK call-center.
